Caveat emptor!

This blog was created on January 8, 2009, by Robert H. Brague, also known as rhymeswithplague. Billy Ray Barnwell is not exactly Mr. Brague’s alter ego, but he has taken up quite a bit of space in Mr. Brague’s head for some time. The only fair thing to do, Mr. Brague reasoned, was to give Billy Ray his own blog and so clear Mr. Brague’s head once and for all. To which Billy Ray replied, “Good luck with that.”

Mr. Barnwell often attempts to take over Mr. Brague’s thought processes. For example, Mr. Brague is not now nor has he ever been a fan of Elvis Presley. Still, Mr. Barnwell suggested to Mr. Brague that Elvis Presley’s birthday (about which Mr. Brague posted earlier today, also at Mr. Barnwell’s suggestion) would be an excellent time to show the world Mr. Barnwell’s book, Billy Ray Barnwell Here (The Meanderings of a Twisted Mind).

If you choose to read Billy Ray Barnwell Here (The Meanderings of a Twisted Mind) from absolute beginning to absolute end, which Mr. Barnwell highly recommends, you may find that Mr. Barnwell is taking up more and more space in your own head as well.

Comments are neither requested nor encouraged, but if you choose to leave any, Mr. Brague is not responsible for whether Mr. Barnwell might respond, or how.

  1. So now you have a dog following this blog also! I'll be interested to read the "book"!
I expect no response, just want to see what this blog is all about!

  2. Dear Theanne and Baron, I have a dog following this blog? How so? And what do you mean by "also"? Your comment has raised more questions than answers, but let me just say that if you ever figure out what this blog is all about would you please leave another comment and let me know? because I have wondered the same thing myself from time to time, just as I have wondered why comments from me, Billy Ray Barnwell, always seem to wind up saying they are from rhymeswithplague. Oh well, or perhaps that should be oh, well, computers are what they are and there is nothing you or I or anyone else can do about it with the possible exception of Bill Gates or Steve Jobs and if you don't know who they are you need to get out more, but I do know one thing about computers, garbage in, garbage out, and I am not referring to either my writing or yours, just to computers in general. Your name, Theanne and Baron, is very unusual; I have never known anyone before with a conjunction for a middle name and it is rather like saying Hanky and Panky or Wishy and Washy or Namby and Pamby and I could go on and on but I won't.

Oh, P.S., I hope you enjoy reading my book. Let me know if you make it all the way to the end.

    1. There's a Jekyll and Hyde quality here and I find myself intrigued. In Australian Melbourne time, it's nearly midnight and I must move off to sleep but I shall return, at least I hope to do so soon enough.

  3. You'll be welcome, Elisabeth, if you do because nobody has read (or commented, at least) on this blog in a month of Sundays and I look forward to your reactions, not that I can change my ways at this late date, but just knowing that a living, breathing human being (you are human, aren't you?) is out there is cause for celebration, if you know what I mean, after all, no man is an island as John Donne once said and also there's no mayonnaise in Ireland as some other wag, not me, also once said.

  5. Dear Lisa Y (although I prefer to think of you as Lisa Y-Not?), welcome to Ye Olde Billy Ray Barnwell Here blog and I do hope that you continue to return time and time again, times without number, world without end, Amen (or as Dr. Paul L. Walker of the Mount Paran Church of God congregation in Atlanta, Georgia, always used to say, "Amen and Amen and Amen!") and I fervently hope that if you find that dose of wisdom you are looking for anywhere in these pages that you will let me know exactly where it is located as I sure would like to know that myself for future reference.
